- When you place an order we collect the name, email address, telephone number, delivery address and billing address you enter, together with the items in your bag and any note you add to the order.
- When you use the contact form we collect the name, email address and message you enter.
- Our hosting provider records standard server log data - IP address, date and time, the page requested, the browser user agent - as part of operating and securing the site.
- We do not ask for, receive or store card numbers or bank credentials on this website. No payment is taken online.
Why we use it
- To record and fulfil your order, arrange payment, arrange delivery and handle any warranty or return that follows from it.
- To reply to enquiries you send us.
- To keep the accounting and tax records that a sale legally requires.
- To keep the site available and to investigate abuse or technical faults.
Legal bases
Order data is processed to perform the contract you enter into with us, and afterwards to comply with our legal record-keeping obligations. Contact-form data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure site.
Who we share it with
- Carriers and freight forwarders, so that your order can be delivered and insured.
- Our hosting and email providers, who process data on our instructions in order to run the website and deliver our messages.
- Our accountants and, where we are legally required to, tax and regulatory authorities.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
How long we keep it
- Order records: seven years from the date of the order, to satisfy accounting and tax requirements.
- Contact-form messages: two years from the last message in the exchange.
- Server logs: ninety days.
Cookies and analytics
- This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Your bag is stored in your own browser using local storage on your device - it never reaches our servers until you submit an order, and clearing your browser data clears it.
- If analytics are added to this site in future, a consent banner will be shown before any analytics script loads, and this policy will be updated to say which service is used and what it records.
Your rights
- You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. Write to contact@bannisteracoustics.com and we will respond within thirty days.
- If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you may also complain to your national data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you may exercise the rights described above without being discriminated against for doing so.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Order records are written to a directory that is not reachable from the web and are accessible only to the staff who process orders.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
